In the land of the rejected, the field is flattened, open to much opportunity. Here flourish the weeds and non-standard quality alike, neither one knowing much about the other, too busy trying to make it on their own. No one aspires, because there is no pinnacle to reach, just be better than whoever is next to you. It is basic, fundamental and often rude, with bonus points for creative solution. Hardly ever about who you are, but how you do, it’s ‘run what you brung’—not Formula One.

Civilian Art Projects is an art gallery based in Washington, D.C. existing to support the voice and vision of the artist. The gallery is located in the Shaw neighborhood in downtown Washington across from The Washington Convention Center, near many museums, galleries, and national treasures.
